Fertun Grul's Coin of Greed

History

This coin was handed down to the minor god Fertun Grul from Luvicious the goddess of luck. The great coin was a gift to sate the greed of Fertun Grul and it worked for a while until Fertun Grul lost his coin long ago during a battle over griffins crossing. Now it sits in the land of mortals where someone will find it and toy with something they don't understand.

How It Works

Flipping this coin can cause great reward or great ruin, Tails you crit fail, Heads you crit succeed on each crit success this coins stage moves up.(If you don't use the coin within 24hrs it automatically resets to stage 1) Just remember what harm could one more flip do.

Stage 1

When the coin is flipped it will either cause a crit success or a crit fail.

Stage 2

The coins affects amplify causing your crits to do double their normal impact, However failing will cause your action to malfunction twice as worse as it normally would.

Stage 3

The third consecutive use of this coin within 24hrs causes your task to multiply by 6x it's original effect, However crit failing can cause the task you are doing to horrendously fail and has a chance of breaking the coin(rolling a 1 on a d100).

Stage 4

At this stage your crits are 10x as effective, However crit failing will cause you to injure yourself with your own roll. The Coin now has a greater chance of breaking (rolling a 1-25 on a 1d100)

Stage 5

At this stage your crits are 20x as effective,However crit failing at this stage can greatly cause the destruction of the coin which is now up to a coin toss.

Stage 6

Using this coin at this stage risks your life, your life becomes the coin. Crit failing will kill you and your soul will forever be locked inside of the coin however crit succeeding will permanently upgrade this item so that stages 1-3 no longer have a downside, However Tier 4 still retains that flipping a tails causes a crit fail but can no longer lead to breakage of the coin. You truly are now the master of luck. (Do note this only takes place if all of your previous flips have been critical successes otherwise the stage clock resets to 1 again.)
